NOW SOLD Vintage PAUL BOULVA designed Suspens ARM CHAIR a seen on STAR TREK Next Gen. Canadian!!!

NOW SOLD is a very unique looking arm chair made by the Artopex Company in Quebec. Artopex is a company that was the result of the amalgamation of three Quebec furniture manufactures Opus, Bonnex and Artena. The company is most notable for the years 1972-82 when the in house designer for the company was Paul Boulva. He is best known for his Lotus Chair which he designed for the 1976 Olympics visitors venues in Montreal. After he left Artopex he formed his own design company, and continued to do design work for Artopex. In 1987 he designed the Suspens series of chairs which were selected as the chairs on the Spacecrafts in Star Trek the next Generation. (check out the slide show at www.paulboulva.com, I did a quick google image search and you can see the side chairs for use in the recreation and lounge areas and some of the crew quarters ). This is one of the Suspens series Arm Chairs. Fantastic lines that make it stand out in any room. The chair measures 21 inches wide, 27 inches deep, 18 inches seat hight at the knee, and 42 inches tall at the back The upholstery on this one is a little dirty and could use a good cleaning. Structurally it is very solid and made of extremely heavy construction. This is bound to be a classic of Canadian Modern chair design. Get ahead of the curve.
