NOW SOLD 1960s ROSEWOOD and Ebony MID CENTURY MODERN Stereo Console KNOLL Eames Era General Electric Canada

For sale is this stunning Stereo Console done in rich rosewood, with an ebonized top and brilliant chrome legs. Although I am not sure of an exact date of manufacture I believe it was made in the early to mid 1960’s (an educated guess on my part). General Electric Canada made this Linea Stereo as the top of their line of their Designers Choice series. It is Model # AR890 ARW , Serial No. KL 1617. Adam A. Ludwig was the series Interior Design Consultant, and it is clear whoever designed this piece was clearly influenced by the work of Florence Knoll and her iconic Credenzas. The console measures 62 inches wide, 19 ½ inches deep and 26 inches tall (approximately) . It contains a Garrard Synchrolab 72B turntable. The auto play/changer feature on the turntable does not function, however it works fine in Manual mode. It has a powerful 150 Watt Amp, and has inputs and outputs for a Reel to Reel unit. This is advantageous as you can use these inputs to connect an iphone, ipod or other mp3 player to play through the console. The best part about this piece is its elegance. Unlike many stereo and hi-fi units this one hides its function behind good design. It has sliding panels of book matched rosewood that cover the speaker grills when not in use. Once closed, the piece has the look of a mid-century modern credenza or sideboard that would look stunning in any room. I have the original paper work that came with the unit, including care and maintenance instructions. This has it all, form, function and elegance. Your chance to add Knoll like design to your home at a fraction of the cost. Don’t miss out. THIS IS NOW SOLD
