NOW SOLD Vintage Eero Saarinen Upholstered Tulip Arm Chair for Knoll

NOW SOLD Fresh out of storage and for sale here is a vintage Eero Saarinen designed Tulip Arm Chair factory upholstered in what I believe to be a Girard designed fabric, manufactured by Knoll . Although you can purchase the Tulip Arm Chair with cushion at Design Within Reach for over $1800 U.S. Dollars http://www.dwr.com/dining-chairs-and-stools/saarinen-tulip-armchair/7224.html?lang=en_US#lang=en_US&start=22 , they no longer manufacture these Upholstered versions . This one features a Knoll Label under the cushion. As I mentioned this is just out of storage. It needs to be cleaned as it is dirty (perfect if you want to re-upholster it) The foam is starting to deteriorate in a few spots, and there is some chipping to the bottom edge of the base. There are no rips or Tears to the fabric, and the swivel mechanism turns smoothly. Over all i would say it presents itself nicely. At my price you could afford to get this completely re-upholstered in any color you wish and get the base touched up at an auto paint shop and still save hundreds and hundreds over buying new. I have not done anything to clean or alter this chair. This is as I found it. This is a classic Mid Century design and are often featured on the set of Mad Men and many other television shows and movies. This would greatly compliment any Eames Era Mid Century modern living space, or add a slightly retro accent to any contemporary room.
