NOW SOLD Teak Hutch / Bookcase
NOWSOLD For sale here is a Vintage Display Hutch / Shelf Unit done in a rich teak wood. I have not been able to find and makers marks indicating who designed or made this piece but it certainly was influenced by the Scandinavian furniture of the 1950 and 1960’s. The measurements for the piece are 50 3/4 inches tall, 54 ½ inches wide and 12 inches deep back to front. It features one lower, long, height adjustable shelf, A middle long shelf that is not height adjustable, and two upper shelves that are heigh adjustable. As I said this was more than likely a hutch that was designed to stand atop a credenza, however it has been designed in a way that allows it to also be used as a free standing shelf unit. Perfect for books, display items, or your vinyl record collection. The piece is in great vintage condition with a fantastic patina to the surface. It does have a small spot of veneer loss to one edge near the bottom, as well as a ding to the one side (taken this into account in the price. It is a quality piece even the back is made of real teak wood panels rather than the unusual particle board faux teak boards you often find on pieces of lower quality. Functional austere design that is so typical of the 60’s Danish / Scandinavian Modern design movement.
