THIS IS NOW SOLD 1960 Solid WALNUT Walter NUGENT C-15 Arm CHAIR Vintage Canadian Late Mid Century Modern Icon

THIS IS NOW SOLD For sale here is a stunning vintage Solid walnut Arm / Lounge chair. This chair designed by Walter Nugent , arguably one of the greatest Canadian Mid Century Modern designer, is deceptively simple in its lines and form. Although this piece has its own unique stance, there are similarities to chairs done by Jens Risom (especially the arm rests). The frame is constructed out of solid walnut, done in an oiled gloss finish. I do not believe that the upholstery is original, but has been professionally recovered in this ultra sued at some point in its past. Fully labeled and dated 1960 patent pending. No tears or rips in the upholstery, but it could do with a good cleaning. The back does have a zipper so the cover can be removed and cleaned, or easily re-upholstered in a fabric to match your décor. The frame does have some scratches, but I have taken this into account in the price. It measures 25 inches wide, 23 inches deep (measured off the wall), and is 32 ½ inches high at the back. The seat itself measures 18 inches high at the knee, and the arm rests are 26 inches tall

NOW SOLD Solid Teak Vladimir KAGAN style Sculptural Arm / Lounge Chair

THIS NOW SOLD here is a stunning Solid Teak Arm / Lounge chairs with sculptural arm rests. One glance at the flowing sculptural frame and arms of this Solid Teak lounge chair brings to mind the classic chairs designed by Vladimir Kagan. Although this piece lacks labels and I have not been able to find the designer of this piece, they were clearly influenced by Kagans work. I believe the upholstery on this piece to be original. No tears or rips, but does display some wear from general usage near the headrest. It measures 26 inches wide, 29 inches deep (measured off the wall), and is 34 inches high at the back. The seat itself measures 16 inches high at the knee, and the arm rests are 21 inches tall. This would greatly compliment any Eames Era Mid Century modern living space, or add a slightly retro accent to any contemporary room. Sold

NOW SOLD LABELED Florence KNOLL Slipper CHAIR Original

NOW SOLD Here is a Florence Knoll designed Classic Slipper Lounge chair. I have also seen these referred to as Parallel Bar Lounge Chairs. The original fabric is free from rips, tears, or stains. The foam is still soft and like new. The stainless steel frame is free from rust, and has minimal use wear. The chair retains it’s original label. I have shown a close up picture of the label. It is an early style of the Knoll label (1950’s era label so I have been told). This is a classic of 1950’s design. It would feel right at home on the set of Mad Men. It is stylish and very comfortable. This is the real thing not one of the many inferior knocks offs that were produced in the 60’s and 70’s. It would look great in any retro / mid century modern decorated space. The modernist clean lines also lend themselves well to any contemporary room.

NOW SOLD Laurel Lamp Co Dome / Tulip Chrome Floor Lamp with Frosted Glass Shade circa. 1950’s

NOW SOLD here is a nice example of the iconic Mushroom / Tulip Floor lamp by the Laurel Lamp company circa. the 1950’s /60’s (fully labeled) . Although I have not been able to find out who designed this lamp, they were clearly influenced by the works of Eero Saarinen and his Tulip series of table and chairs. This is most evident in the tapered(with a unique sparkle like finish on the base) lamp base which is very similar to the bases of the Tulip chairs and tables. Chrome finish and frosted glass dome shade give this lamp a very unique appearance, and throws a very appealing light. The lamp measures approximately 5 foot in height. No cracks or chips in the shade, and the chrome is in nice shape with no flaking. This would be the focal point of most any mid-century modern / atomic age home. NOW SOLD

SOLD Pair of Royal Metal Co. Industrial Arm Chairs.

NOW SOLD For sale here is a vintage pair of Retro style Arm / Club Chairs. These were made by the Royal Metal and Manufacturing Company of Canada, who were a contemporary of such companies as Steelcase (best known for there iconic Tanker Desks and chairs ) and Shaw Walker who were on the cutting edge of Industrial Furniture Design during the 1940’s and 1950’s. These have all the hallmarks of good industrial / Machine Age design. They have a solid stance which leans back slightly giving the illusion that the chair is about to get up on it’s own and walk away. Very simple lines, and easy to maintain surfaces. In this case The one piece arms and legs are made out of polished stainless steel, with early plastic (possibly Bakelite) arm rests and a mottled reddish brown vinyl upholstery. Each chair measures as follows : Seat height is 18 inches, arm height is 25 inches, back height is 32 inches. Chair width is 21 inches at it's widest part, and the chair stands 28 inches in depth (front to back). The chairs are in very nice condition. The only real flaw that I can see is one small split of the vinyl (less that ½ inch long) at the seat front where your legs hang over the seat, and a small scuff at the top/back headrest area. Neither are very noticeable but are mentioned for accuracies sake. I took pictures of the fronts back and sides (including one of the small split) for you to be able to judge condition for yourself. This would greatly compliment any Eames Era Mid Century modern or Industrial / Machine Age living space. Or add a slightly retro accent to any contemporary room. Please feel free to email me any questions you may have, or for more pictures. NOW SOLD
