THIS IS NOW SOLD Walnut Coffee Table

THIS PIECE IS NOW SOLD Unique walnut coffee table. Measures 70 inches long (5foot10), 22 inches wide and 14 inches high. Classic 1950's long and low styling. The curvaceous legs bring to mind the works of Adrian Pearsall especially the sofa he did for Craft see:http://www.1stdibs.com/furniture_item_detail.php?id=477386 . I have often though this piece might in fact be by Pearsall, but unfortunately there are no makers marks on it. There is a very small spot of veneer loss to the edge of the top (a fairly easy fix), but other than that the piece is in excellent condition. href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhadH7SAIvOkQGHHHwDAO3WhGKBCg4oEVee8YQcwxIKJwXR3s12quYmbpnopdf8PDfo0jEJ3eXyflaZItBMTtiUhFiIrxAAIUcuSsoaBmZdxxvZNNN9ZHZWyg9XXGp5fBGPCbrNJ_XePG0p/s1600/LongLowWalnutCoffeeTableProfileB.jpg">

THIS IS NOW SOLD Eames Era Pedestal Fireplace Mod Capsule MALM Style

THIS IS NOW SOLD Here is a retro Eames era pedestal Fireplace. It is in great condition, but does have chipping to the enamel, most of which is around the back near the seam and around the screw heads. It is minimal. There is no rusting. It has the name Firehood embossed inside the fireplace base. It came out of a cottage a few years back and I have used it as a display piece with a set of electric logs in it (pictured in the fireplace) since then. I will throw in the logs if the buyer wants them. I love the retro shape to this. It almost looks like a space capsule. Included will be the mesh fire guard cover which was designed specifically for this unit (pictured) as well as two lengths of chimney pipe that have a matching red enamel finish (not pictured). The company MALM still makes this style of Fireplace in California, but they start at $1700.00. In my area this unit does not comply to fire-codes so it could not be used to burn wood inside a home (which is why I used the electric logs). You will have to check with your own area’s firecodes before installing this to burn wood indoor. SOLD

THIS IS NOW SOLD 1960's Mod Fiberglass Club Chair

THIS IS NOW SOLD For sale here is a Club or Lounge Chair done in a vintage Mod style. It features a very unique wrap around white fiberglass frame which form the sides and legs for the chair. It was re-upholstered in a very retro styled fabric approximately 5 years ago. The foam and strapping are in like new condition. The fabric is free from tears or holes, but does have a few areas of discoloration and could probably do with a good cleaning. The Fiberglass does have a few small cracks and chips but nothing very noticeable (it is a vintage piece after all and I have priced accordingly). I have not been able to find a makers or manufacturers mark on this chair, but who ever designed this was clearly influenced, by the works of Milo Baughman, Edward Wormley and Florence Knoll and their versions of club chairs. I imagine that this was originally made sometime around the mid to late 1960’s, but that is only an educated guess. It is exceptionally comfortable The chairs measurements are as follows: 3 feet wide, 31 inches long (off the wall) the seat height is 19 inches and the height at the back is 31 inches. This would look great in any mid-century modern styled room. The modernist clean lines also lend themselves well to any contemporary room.

THIS PIECE IS NOW SOLD Unique Teak Sideboard / Credenza

THIS ITEM IS NOW SOLD For sale here is a Danish modern style credenza / sideboard done in a rich teak wood. The Credenza measures 87 inches long and 18 inches deep, and 31 inches high. It features a very unique pair of asymmetrical sliding panels, revealing large shelving space for storage. It also features 3 drawers including the top drawer that features three dividers for cutlery. There is another sliding panel that has a front featuring the appearance of another 3 drawers. I have not found any labels on this piece, but it clearly was influenced by Scandinavian design of the late 50’s. The top does have some aged scratches, and there is a small spot of veneer loss on the left side end, I have taken this into account with regards to the price. This would look great in any dinning room, or office or just as a day to day storage piece. A unique piece that features the functional austere design that is so typical of the 50-60’s Danish / Scandinavian Modern design movement.

THESE ARE NOW SOLD Pair of Jan Kuypers Dressers for Imperial Furniture THESE ARE NOW SOLD

THESE ARE NOW SOLD .Here is a pair of yellow birch wood dressers. Designed in 1952 by Dutch born Jan Kuypers for the Imperial Furniture Manufacturing company of Canada as part of there Contemporary Line. Considered one of the giants of Canadian Modern design Kuypers pieces are now highly sought after for their innovative and stylish look. This matching pair are no exception. Great undulating front lines to the drawers, with a clean upright stance. Imperial was one of only a handful of Canadian Furniture Manufactures that were bravely testing the waters of a more modern look in furniture design. It’s contemporary line was clearly made to compete with the very popular Heywood Wakefields Birch 1950’s furniture. The condition on this pairs is very good. There is a larger scratch to one side ,and some bumpiness to the top of one. There are also some minor shrinkage to the veneer at the bottom of one side which has cause some separation of the veneer seems (priced accordingly). Over-all most of this stuff is not highly noticeable, but I am mentioning it for accuracy sake. This set looks stunning, the birch and finish has aged nicely giving it a nice warm glow. I did a little research and found some info about Imperial and Kuypers on Page 83 of the Design In Canada book. I also found this listing from a seller in Chicago for a pieces from this series http://www.assemblageltd.com/itemdetails.php?id=268287. (yes that says $4250. U.S. for the one piece!). Each dresser measures 40 inches tall , 28 ½ inches wide, and 17 3/4 inches in deep. I am not much of a photographer so the pictures don't do the chairs justice. These would greatly compliment any Eames Era Mid Century modern living space, or add a slightly retro accent to any contemporary room. As more and more interest is being shown in Canadian Mid-Century Modern Design these are bound to gain in value. THESE ARE NOW SOLD
