NOW SOLD!!! TEAK Expo 67 COFFEE TABLE by RS ASSOCIATES Canadian Classic
NOW SOLD !here is a classic of Canadian Modern Design. Originally planned as a designed for display at Expo 1967 in Montreal, the piece did not actually go into production until 1968. Designed by R.S. Associates of Montreal the unique design and construction gives the appearance that the top is actually “floating”, completely separate from the lower pedestal. Done in a rich teak wood that features a fantastic vintage patina. It does have some chips to the bottom of the front pedestal, and the top does have a few light scratches from honest use. It has been used but not abused. The nice thing about teak wood, scratches and marks are easily taken care of. Just a quick light sanding and then a good oiling and all of its stunning luster comes back to life. I have taken this into account when pricing this Piece. The table Measures 66 inches long, 26 inches wide and 15 inches high. . I am not much of a photographer so the pictures don't do the table justice. These would greatly compliment any Eames Era Mid Century modern living space, or add a slightly retro accent to any contemporary room. As more and more interest is being shown in Canadian Mid-Century Modern Design these are bound to gain in value.

NOW SOLD Solid Teak Round Coffee Table
SOLD here is a nice Round Coffee Table. I am unsure who designed the piece, and there are no makers marks or labels. Whoever it was clearly influenced by 1960s Scandinavian and Danish design. Elegant lines and a tapered sculped edge create great aesthetic appeal. It is made of solid teak, and is structurally strong. Someone at some point varnished or stained the top in a dark brown tone, and did a pretty poor job. The glossy finish will need to be stripped away (I have taken that into account when pricing this piece. The table measures 38 ½ inches in diameter, and 15 ½ inches tall. SOLD

Just a quick light sanding and then a good oiling and all of its stunning luster beams through. The table measures 39 ¼ inches in diameter, and 19 ¾ inches tall. NOW SOLD

NOW SOLD JAN KUYPERS Afrormosia COFFEE TABLE African TEAK Imperial Furniture
For sale here is a stunning Coffee Table designed by Jan Kuypers for Imperial Furniture Company of Stratford Ontario. Dutch born Jan Kuypers Considered one of the giants of Canadian Modern design Kuypers pieces are now highly sought after for their innovative and stylish look. This table is no exception. It is made of a very rare exotic wood called Afrormosia, often referred to as African Teak as it is Native to the African continent and was often used as a replacement for Teak when it became scarce in the late 1960’s. It shares some similarities in grain to Teak, but has its own unique stunning grain which stand out on this piece. Unfortunately it was over harvested over time and is now an endangered species, and is exceptionally expensive. Beautiful elegant lines and tapered edges stand out and clearly demonstrate Kuypers design prowess. It does have some surface scratches and dents, it has been well loved but not abused (I have taken this into account when pricing this piece. It still looks great. I did a little research and found some info about Imperial and Kuypers on Page 83 of the Design In Canada book. The table measures 5 feet long, 21 inches wide, and 15 ½ inches high. Imperial label on the underframe. I am not much of a photographer so the pictures don't do the table justice. These would greatly compliment any Eames Era Mid Century modern living space, or add a slightly retro accent to any contemporary room. As more and more interest is being shown in Canadian Mid-Century Modern Design these are bound to gain in value
