THIS IS NOW SOLD Here is a scarcely seen BUFFET SERVER from the Catalina series designed and manufactured by the Russel Spanner company of Toronto in 1952. Considered a pioneering Icon of Canadian modernism in furniture design Russell Spanner pieces are tough to come by. Here we have the BUFFET SERVER that features one upper drawer and two sliding doors revealing a large storage area with adjustable shelves. Of course it also displays the unique overhanging almost cantilevered profile, sitting atop stylishly splayed legs, that the Catalina series is known for. The outer case is done in the “Nutmeg “ finish offered by Spanner, while the Maple sliding doors , and drawer front are done in a natural aged maple finish. If the finish is not to your liking it would not be a very hard job to paint this into something that matches your décor. They key to this piece are it’s very mod. lines. The piece measures 33 inches tall, 3 feet wide and 20 inches deep measured off the wall. The “Ruspan by Spanner” mark is located in the upper drawer. It does have a small veneer chip on the side, and the usual scuffs and wear with a piece of this age, but I would say the overall condition is very nice. Under appreciated for many years, Seduced and Abandoned, Virginia Wright's 1985 exhibition of Canadian furniture at The Art Gallery at Harbourfront brought renewed interest in Russell Spanner designs (and Canadian Modernist furniture in general) and more recently the “A Spanner in the Works , the Furniture of Russell Spanner 1950-1953” exhibit at the Power Plant Gallery in the 1990’s has added to the growing enthusiasm for collecting and appreciating these pieces. Here is your chance to own a scarce piece designed by what many consider to be the Charles Eames / George Nelson of Canada. THIS IS NOW SOLD

NOW SOLD Pair of Westnofa of Norway Teak Arm chairs attributed to INGMAR RELLING
NOW SOLD here is a wonderful matching pair of cantilevered arm chairs done in a rich teak bent wood construction, from the Westnofa Company of Norway. Although I am unsure of who the designer of this pair is, it does have many similar construction techniques as the famous Siesta Chair that was designed by Ingmar Relling and made by Westnofa as well in the mid 1960s. The chairs measure 23 ¼ inches deep measured from the back to the front off the wall, 16 inches seat hight at the knee, 31 inches high at the back, 25 ½ inches high at the arms and 22 ¾ inches wide , each. These are a vintage pair do need some TLC. Structurally they are perfect, however the fabric does have some wear and areas of discoloration. There are no holes or tears, and I imagine that the original fabric could be cleaned and maintained if keeping the chairs as original as possible is a priority. If not these would be excellent candidates for re-upholstery with a new fabric of your choice, to match your current décor. The wood does show the usual honest wear patterns that come with vintage chairs. That being said they have taken on a nice warm patina that is part of the unique character with vintage pieces, and makes them so desirable. Each chair features the Westnofa label.

THIS IS NOW SOLD Stunning Walnut Mid Century 9 Drawer Dresser
Here is a beautiful Mid Century Walnut 9 Drawer Dresser. The piece features unique carved handles, tapered legs and some of the nicest wood grain i have seen on a walnut piece. Lots of storage here with it measuring 80 1/2 inches long, 18 1/4 wide (off the wall) and 32 1/4 inches tall. Unfortunately no labels on this one, but it is a high quality piece. It not only makes a great dresser, but would also make a great Flat Screen TV stand as well with plenty of drawer room for all your DVD's and electronic gadgets. The only flaw to this piece is a small piece that is broke off one of the carved handles. It is not all that noticeable, and i have taken it into account when i was pricing the dresser. Other than that it is in superb condition. THIS IS NOW SOLD

THIS IS NOW SOLD Vintage Teak 9 Drawer Dresser.
SOLD Here is a vintage 9 drawer dresser done in beautiful teak wood. The piece features carved handles with nice tapered legs and edges . The dresser measures 75 ½ inches long, 31 inches tall and is 18 ½ inches deep off the wall. This is a quality piece with dovetailed construction on the drawers and heavy solid construction throughout. I have not found any labels on this piece, but it would certainly fit in with your Danish / Scandinavian Modern designed furniture. It also would greatly compliment any Eames Era Mid Century modern living space, or adding a slightly retro accent to any contemporary room. It would also make a stylish flat screen TV stand with lots of storage drawers for your electronic gadgets, and DVD collection. Very similar to a credenza or sideboard that way.SOLD

THIS IS NOW SOLD Teak Sectional Sofa
THIS IS NOW SOLD Here is a stunning Teak sectional sofa. A unique low, long “L” shaped piece that features an upholstered sofa section and a long low teak bench/ side / coffee table section to the side. The two sections are separate but were made to fit together. When the pieces are combined together they measures 126 inches long with the side bench measuring 73 ½ inches long, It measures 16 inches tall (to the top of the cushions), and 30 ½ inches tall at the back. It section measures 30 inches deep off the wall. The tapered teak legs are currently on rollers but could easily be replaced with any style you like. The teak itself is in excellent condition with a nice dark patina. The upholstery and cushions are a bit dated, however the cushion section is bolted onto the lower bench and could be easily removed to make re-upholstering the piece in your favorite contemporary fabric fairly easy. The side section could be just used as a side table/ coffee table, or you could have some cushions made for added seating capacity. This is a very unique and stylish piece I have never seen another like it. It screams mid to early 1960’s with it’s long, low sleek lines. This would look great in any space age bachelor pad or atomic ranch lounge. It also would greatly compliment any modern living space, adding a slightly retro accent to any contemporary room. This would fit right in with any of your Danish Modern teak pieces as well.

NOW SOLD Bruno Mathsson for Dux Perlina 3 Chaise.
NOW SOLD Seldom seen on these shores, for sale here is Bruno Mathsson designed Pernille 3 Chaise Lounge manufactured by DUX (also spelled as the Pernilla 3 ). Mathsson is considered to be one of the masters of Scandinavian Design, and this chaise lounge is arguably his masterpiece. This piece features Mathsson’s signature and the Dux impressed mark. This particular version did originally come with the grey sheepskin cover which I recently took off. The cover did have some spots of wear and I preferred the look of the chair without it on. I will include the cover with the chair. You can put the cover back on if you wish (it is very soft and comfortable). You can still purchase this chair brand new at http://www.danishdesignstore.com/collections/bruno-mathsson?gclid=CO3Ry5qV3aICFRbyDAod6A3PyQ , for $6330.00 for the sheepskin optio. The webbing is in virtually brand new condition (being under the cover helped keep it this way). The pillow is suede and could probably do with a good dry cleaning. The wood is in excellent condition with no breaks, cracks or scratches. The chair measures 67 inches long, 25 inches wide at its widest point, and 36 inches high at the top of the backrest (all are approximate) .

THIS IS NOW SOLD Teak Headboard with attached Side Tables
here is a vintage free standing headboard with attached side table done in a richly dark grained teak wood. It features nicely designed pair of attached side tables, each features wonderfully tapered legs. The headboard measures 8 feet long and 3 feet tall. There are no labels on this piece but the design was clearly influenced by the Scandinavian design movement of the 50’s and 60’s. The headboard is in nice shape. The side tables however do have some ring marks on the tops of each. Teak is relatively easy to refinish. Here is a link to an excellent web site that takes you through the steps. ( basically it’s just sanding and then oil after.) http://www.stylenorth.ca/blog/2011/07/learning-to-refinish-start-with-teak/. I don’t have time to do the work (also I am kind of lazy), so I am passing the savings onto you. If I had finished the table tops I would have this listed at least double the price. If you have the time (shouldn’t take more than a day to do the job) this is a great opportunity to get a wonderful piece at a greatly reduced price. THIS IS NOW SOLD
NOW SOLD 1964 Original Vintage Swan Chair By Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen
THIS PIECE IS NOW SOLD Here is a original vintage SWAN CHAIR designed by Arne Jacobsen and manufactured by FRITZ HANSEN of Denmark. Jacobsen is considered to be one of the icons of Scandinavian and Modern Design in general. Jacobsen introduced the Swan Chair design in 1958 and it arguably remains his masterpiece (his Egg Chair and Ant Chair are equally brilliant). It was manufactured in 1964 (the label has the serial number 0964 on it). You can still purchase this chair brand new at the Design Within Reach Web site for $3687.00 (or $8800 in leather). http://www.dwr.com/product/manufacturer/fritz-hansen/swan-collection/swan-chair-fabric.do?sortby=ourPicks . That being said I believe that the new ones have had the bases changed from the original Fritz Hansen design slightly. The new ones appear to have a straight tubular base stem, where as the original like mine have a fluted base stem. So if you are truly interested in owning the design that Arne Jacobsen introduced in 1958, vintage is the only way to go. The chair does have some condition issues. The foam has hardened and crumbled over the years, and the fabric would need to be replaced or cleaned. There are no tears. The aluminum base does have the usual scuffs (I imagine these could be polished out) , but no dents or breaks. The Swivel mechanism moves freely and very smooth. Basically you could get this chair re-upholstered in any fabric you like and still save several hundreds of dollars than you would buying new (thousands if you get it re-done in leather). The chair measures 29 inches wide, 27 1/2 inches tall at the back. The seat height is 15 inches high at the leg and approximately 31 inches deep measured off the wall. (all are approximate) .
NOW SOLD Set of 6 Vintage RETRO Stools
NOW SOLD Here are 6 Vintage Bar stools that have such a retro vibe to them. Exceptionally solid, with vinyl tops that’s are easy to care for, these would look great around any retro themed bar, or kitchen island. Each one is 2 foot tall with the seats measuring 13 ½ inches by 13 ½ inches. The vinyl tops are in perfect shape without and marks or tears. The legs do have the expected amount of use wear near the bottoms, and several of the sliders will have to be replaced (most hardware stores carry these). I have taken this into account in the price. Hard to find a matching set of 6 like this. Don’t miss out.

THIS PIECE IS NOW SOLD Amazing Mod Console Table/Desk and Stool Set. Orange!
Here is a stunning circa late 1960’s early 70’s MOD style console table and stool. Although I do not know who the designed these pieces, they were clearly influenced by Pop Art and Mod furniture designers such as Verner Panton and Eero Aarnio. A versatile piece that can be used as a desk and stool set, or as a console table and display stand/ side table if used separately. The pieces are made from wood with hard vinyl laminate covering done is a matching bright orange color that screams retro. The table does have a few light scratches from general use wear (priced accordingly), the stool is in great shape. I love the color, but it would be an easy paint job to change it for a more contemporary look. The stools diameter measures 2 feet across and it is 21 inches tall. The table measures 4 feet long, 29 inches tall, and18 inches deep. This would be an essential part of any space age bachelor pad, or mid century loft. It would look great as a flatscreen TV stand. The upper section sits on top of the lower and can be removed by just lifting it off (you could even just use the lower section by itself as a flat screen stand if you like). The piece does have some chipping and wear to the side edges, as well as some old veneer repairs. I have taken those into account when pricing this unit. The piece measures 66 inches tall, 34 ½ inches wide. The upper section is 10 ½ inches deep and the lower is 17 ½ inches deep. The both upper and lower pieces are stamped “Made in Denmark “ on the back. 1950’s Henry Moore / Weinberg Style Abstract Sculptural Table Lamp
This stunning circa 1950’s sculptural lamp brings to mind the works of Henry Moore and Frederic Weinberg (also spelled Frederick). Although I am unsure of who designed this lamp the sculptor was not afraid to wear his or her influences on there sleeve. Great flowing abstract sculptural form. It does have the abbreviation F.A.I.P. on the base. This is the company mark for Fine Art In Plaster. They were a company who produced many lamps through out the 50 and 60’s, but I have never seen one a sculptural or abstract as this. Considering it is a plaster lamp it is in very good condition. There is some crazing to the finish and the white has aged to a nice almost ivory color. There are one or two very tiny spots of paint loss to the base (it could be touched up with some black paint). However these things add to the character and vintage look of this piece (in my opinion for what it’s worth). There are no large chips, pieces missing or broken off that usually plague these plaster lamps of this era. The lamp measures approximately 32 inches in height. This would be the focal point of most any mid-century modern / atomic age home. An Eames era classic. $285.00

THIS IS NOW SOLD 1960’s Mod Tulip Style Pedestal Lounge Chair
THIS IS NOW SOLD This fantastic mod lounge / arm chair is made of injection moulded plastic. There are no makers marks to identify who made it. There are two U.S. patent numbers on the metal swivel mechanism on the base of the chair that were issued in 1966 and 1961, so believe that this chair was made in the late 1960’s. Although I do not know who the designer was, but they were clearly influenced by Eero Saarinen Tulip chair design that he did for Knoll in 1958. The fantastic bright yellow (much brighter than it appears in the pictures) cushion liner looks fantastic against the bright white of the chair itself.. The chair does have some crazing to the plastic. There are also some edge chipping to the back edges of the chair. However these things are really only noticeable when one is up close to the chair. I like to think of those things as adding character, after all the chair is over 40 years old. The chair measurements are as follows. 32 inches deep measured off the wall, 34 inches wide, 25 inches high at the back 15 inches high at the seat. The chair is sturdy and fairly comfortable, and the swivel mechanism is smooth. This would be an essential part of any space age bachelor pad, or mid century loft.
THIS IS NOW SOLD Vintage 1968 Fender SUPER REVERB Amplifier DRIP EDGE Original
For sale here is my circa 1968 Fender Super Reverb AMP 4 by 10inch guitar amplifier. I purchased this from the son of the original owner sometime in the early 1990’s. It is just a bit too much amp for me now and so I have not used it much in the last couple of years. (I have a 60’s Ampeg Reverb Rocket whose volume is much better matched to my space now). That being said this is an incredible Amp. I am not much of a gear head but from what I read on the internet these pre-master volume/drip edge grill cover versions of these were only produced during the years 1968-69. It was a transition year for Fender when they switched from the Blackface amps to the Silverface versions. Apparently the 1968-69 variations still used the same electronics layout as the blackface amps (according to what I have read on the internet anyway). Cosmetically this amp is in excellent condition. The black cover is really clean, and free from scuffs or tears. The chrome is still bright and shiny. In fact the only cosmetic flaw that I can find is a small snag in the grill cloth. That being said the grill cloth itself is free from darkening or yellowing. (nice silver/metallic blue colors). In fact it is hard to believe that this amp is over 40 years old. It has clearly been babied and never gigged. As far as I know it is all original. I have changed nothing since I have owned it. It has a AB763 Paper Tube Chart and is serial number A43992. It sounds amazing. Really clean. The reverb is nice and deep. I do not have a foot pedal for this amp so I have never used the tremolo on it, I am assuming it works but no guarantees (the amp is being sold as is). If you have a pedal feel free to bring it along if you come to test the amp. The dials are a little noisy when you move them, but I have been told that the pots just need a cleaning which is an easy fix . This is a legendary amp and once you play through it you will know why. TONE! The 4 original 10 inch Fender speakers sound incredible.
